Lin Qiao

I am a full-time professional artist from China, and my daily practice is centred on wabi-sabi abstraction, tactile surfaces, and the quiet emotional weight of imperfection. I work slowly with layered mineral tones, softened edges, irregular marks, and generous areas of stillness. My aim is to create original paintings that feel calm without becoming passive, and that reward closer viewing through subtle changes in texture and tone. For me, art is a disciplined study of time, restraint, craftsmanship, and the way a carefully worked surface can transform the atmosphere of a room.

The current Avoryne selection focuses on repeated dots, short marks, carved grids and tactile arrays, with neutral and monochrome subseries. Related works are grouped by palette, subject elements and surface texture; format and composition may vary within a series.
