Based in Japan

Balance is found in the space a painting chooses to leave untouched.

I am a full-time professional artist from Japan, and my practice is centred on balance, emptiness, tactile stillness, and the quiet force of a carefully placed form. I work with a restrained palette of rice white, ash, sumi black, and weathered beige, allowing subtle differences in texture and edge to carry meaning. Rather than filling the surface, I treat untouched space as an active material. My commitment is to create original paintings that invite slower viewing and sustained attention. For me, art is a daily discipline shaped by patience, proportion, craftsmanship, and a continuing search for clarity through reduction.

The current Avoryne selection focuses on decorative birds and botanicals, with outline-led wave and landscape designs kept in separate series. Related works are grouped by palette, subject elements and surface texture; format and composition may vary within a series.
