Choosing Bedroom Wall Art
Bedroom art is the first thing you see in the morning and the last at night, so most people want it calmer than the art in the rest of the house. This collection brings together hand-painted bedroom wall art in soft, restful palettes: textured neutrals, minimalist abstracts, impressionist landscapes, coastal scenes and florals.
What size art should go above a bed?
Aim for artwork about two-thirds the width of the headboard. For a queen bed, that is roughly 40 inches wide; for a king, roughly 50 inches. Hang the bottom edge 6 to 10 inches above the headboard. A single horizontal canvas or a diptych both work; a pair of square paintings can also align with two nightstands.
Which colors are best for a bedroom?
Soft neutrals such as beige, white and warm gray are the most popular choice for restful rooms. Muted blues and greens, often found in coastal and landscape paintings, also feel calm. Save bright, high-contrast palettes for rooms where you want energy.
Which styles suit a bedroom?
Textured plaster paintings add depth without visual noise. Minimalist and wabi-sabi art create a quiet, spa-like mood. Impressionist landscapes and seascapes give a sense of distance and air. Soft florals bring warmth.
Is it safe to hang art above a bed?
Use hardware rated well above the weight of the painting and fix it securely into studs or with suitable wall anchors. Framed canvases are heavier than frameless ones. Contact us to confirm hanging hardware and finished outer dimensions for your chosen artwork.
Where else can bedroom art go?
Consider the wall facing the bed, which you see more than the one behind it; the space above a dresser; or a reading corner. A vertical painting suits the narrow wall beside a wardrobe or window.
Can I match art to my bedding or paint color?
Yes. Choose a painting that repeats one tone from your bedding or curtains. If a design is right but the palette is not, you can discuss a custom painting in colors that suit your room.
